FrieslandCampina Ingredients gains health claim approvals in Australia, New Zealand

The health claims approval was granted after a rigorous evaluation process by FSANZ

NETHERLANDS – FrieslandCampina Ingredients, a leading global supplier of protein and prebiotic solutions, has secured 16 health claim approvals from Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

According to the company, this highlights its growing influence in the nutrition sector and its commitment to science-backed products.

The approvals are expected to strengthen FrieslandCampina’s position in the Australian and New Zealand markets, where demand for health-focused dairy ingredients is on the rise.

The health claims, granted after a rigorous evaluation process by FSANZ, cover a range of nutritional benefits linked to FrieslandCampina’s innovative ingredients.

These include proteins and prebiotics designed to support gut health, immunity, and overall well-being.

According to a statement from the company, this achievement reflects years of research and collaboration with scientific experts to ensure their products meet strict regulatory standards.

The approvals come at a time when consumers are increasingly seeking foods and supplements with proven health benefits, a trend that FrieslandCampina is well-positioned to address.

“We are thrilled to receive these approvals from FSANZ,” the company said. “This is a testament to our dedication to delivering high-quality, science-based nutrition that meets the needs of consumers in this region.”

The company emphasized that the health claims will allow them to better communicate the benefits of their ingredients to manufacturers and customers, paving the way for new product innovations in the food and beverage industry.

FrieslandCampina’s success with FSANZ builds on its global reputation as a leader in dairy-based nutrition.

The company has previously secured approvals for ingredients like lactoferrin in the United States and whey protein hydrolysates in the European Union, demonstrating a consistent track record of regulatory achievements.

Industry analysts suggest that these latest approvals could boost FrieslandCampina’s market share in the Asia-Pacific region, where Australia and New Zealand serve as key hubs for dairy exports.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients is part of the larger FrieslandCampina cooperative, which has been a major player in the dairy industry for over 150 years.

The cooperative, owned by more than 14,500 dairy farmers, has been expanding its focus on sustainable and nutritious solutions.

Our goal is to make specialized nutrition accessible to everyone.”

With these new health claims, FrieslandCampina is set to further its reach, offering manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand validated options to create healthier products for consumers.
