Bobbie unveils first USDA organic whole milk infant formula

“Partially organic products are unfortunately misleading to parents looking for high quality organic infant nutrition.”

USA – Bobbie, an organic infant feeding company, has announced the upcoming launch of Bobbie Organic Whole Milk Formula, touted as the first and only USDA Organic whole milk infant formula available in the United States.

The product, priced at US$28 per can, is expected to hit shelves in April 2025, marking a significant milestone for the company founded in 2018.

Christina Berberich, PharmD, MPH, RD, vice president of Research and Development in Regulatory Affairs at Bobbie, emphasized the importance of transparency in organic labeling.

When you see an organic infant formula on the shelf today, it may contain a few organic ingredients but it doesn’t mean it is fully USDA organic like Bobbie’s Organic Whole Milk infant formula,” she said.

“Partially organic products are unfortunately misleading to parents looking for high quality organic infant nutrition.”

Berberich highlighted that the USDA Organic seal ensures at least 95% certified organic ingredients, free from synthetic pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, GMOs, artificial preservatives, or flavors, while adhering to strict animal welfare standards.

According to a 2020 survey from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, fewer than half of US infants are exclusively breastfed by three months, highlighting the need for high-quality formula options.

Bobbie, which entered the market in 2020 as the first new infant formula company in over six years, previously offered three formulas: Bobbie Organic Infant Formula, Bobbie Whole Milk Infant Formula, and Bobbie Organic Gentle Infant Formula.

The new product builds on this legacy with a fat blend designed to promote softer stools, featuring higher milk fat and less plant-based oil, alongside naturally occurring milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) linked to brain development, immune support, and gut health benefits.

A report by the company also notes the inclusion of DHA at EU-standard levels and choline, with rigorous third-party testing confirming the formula’s safety from toxins and heavy metals, surpassing FDA requirements.

Laura Modi, CEO and cofounder of Bobbie, expressed the team’s dedication to innovation. “For years, we asked ourselves why there is no USDA Organic Whole Milk formula on the market?

“Turns out, it is incredibly difficult to develop, but for our Bobbie Labs team of scientists, pediatricians, dietitians, regulatory experts, all of us parents, we fundamentally believe it is our responsibility to uplevel the entire industry,” she said.
