USA – Lifeway Foods, Inc. has expanded the distribution of its cultured soft cheese, Lifeway Farmer Cheese, increasing its retail presence in an additional 1,400 Albertsons stores.
The company described this expansion as a significant step in making the product more accessible to consumers and strengthening its presence in the growing market for high-protein and probiotic-rich foods.
The company produces its Farmer Cheese in small batches using an artisanal recipe. It has a texture and taste similar to blended cottage cheese and spreads like cream cheese.
According to Lifeway, the cheese contains 12 live and active probiotics, provides 15 grams of protein per serving, and is up to 99% lactose-free.
The company also highlighted that it is gluten-free and does not contain added salt.
Julie Smolyansky, president and chief executive officer of Lifeway, said the demand for high-protein and probiotic-rich foods has been increasing, and the company was excited to expand the product’s availability.
“Farmer Cheese is one of our cult favorite products that we’ve offered since Lifeway’s inception, and it only continues to grow in popularity thanks to its delicious flavor and incredible benefits,” she stated.
Lifeway also noted that growing interest in the product has been driven by social media, with increased attention from consumers inspired by viral recipes and endorsements from influential figures such as Bethenny Frankel.
The company pointed out that Farmer Cheese provides a smooth alternative to traditional cottage cheese while maintaining high nutritional value and probiotic benefits.
The expansion marks another step for Lifeway in strengthening its foothold in the dairy industry by catering to evolving consumer preferences.
The company emphasized that by increasing accessibility to its Farmer Cheese, it aims to introduce more people to the advantages of fermented dairy products.
Smolyansky expressed confidence in the product’s continued success, adding, “Farmer cheese saves a step for everyone seeking an elevated cottage cheese upgrade with a smooth consistency, bioavailable protein, and probiotic benefits.”
