Gillco expands US distribution of FrieslandCampina’s Biotis ingredients

USA – Azelis’ Gillco Ingredients has announced a new exclusive distribution agreement with FrieslandCampina Ingredients in the United States, expanding the availability of FrieslandCampina’s Biotis Health Benefit Solutions.

The partnership aims to enhance the distribution of functional ingredients that support gut, brain, and immune health, strengthening Gillco’s presence in the growing health and nutrition sector.

According to a report by FrieslandCampina Ingredients, the agreement enables Gillco to offer manufacturers technical expertise and formulation support for developing functional foods and beverages.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients has positioned its Biotis line as a key player in the health and well-being industry, catering to increasing consumer demand for scientifically backed nutritional solutions.

“This partnership brings exciting opportunities for US manufacturers to innovate in the growing health and well-being space,” Auke Zeilstra, regional sales director for FrieslandCampina Ingredients in North America said.

He emphasized that the collaboration with Gillco would allow more companies to incorporate FrieslandCampina’s high-quality ingredients into their products, ultimately driving innovation in the sector.

Reported by Azelis, the partnership builds on an already established collaboration between FrieslandCampina and the company in Canada and Europe.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients has continued to expand its footprint across international markets, leveraging its research-driven approach to developing functional ingredients.

The Biotis product line has been recognized for its role in supporting digestive health, cognitive function, and immunity, aligning with current trends in personalized nutrition and preventive health care.

Shelley Becht, managing director of Gillco, expressed enthusiasm about the agreement, highlighting the opportunity to bring FrieslandCampina’s ingredients to more manufacturers in the United States.

“We are very excited to offer the Biotis line to our customers. There is a growing demand in our industry, and our technical teams are ready to collaborate with manufacturers to explore novel applications and formulations,” she said.

The companies also emphasized their commitment to sustainability as part of their business strategy.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients reported that it remains dedicated to monitoring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain, with a strong focus on using fully renewable energy in its production facilities.

Azelis, on the other hand, reaffirmed its commitment to responsible sourcing and reducing environmental impact across its operations.

The latest agreement follows a series of strategic moves by Azelis to expand its presence in the food, nutrition, and health sectors.

In October last year, the company entered into a distribution agreement with Gattefossé, a manufacturer of natural cosmetic ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients.

Additionally, Azelis recently acquired Hortimex, a move that strengthens its position in the Polish nutraceutical and food ingredients market.
