THAILAND – Alpla has officially inaugurated its new 24,000-square-meter packaging plant in Chachoengsao, Thailand, marking a significant expansion in the country.
Reported by the company, the facility, which opened on February 11, 2025, after a year of construction, will serve as Alpla’s new headquarters in Thailand, replacing its previous base in Prachinburi.
According to the company, the Chachoengsao site integrates production, administration, and a technical center dedicated to product development.
It also houses the first ‘StudioA’ in the Asia-Pacific region, designed to collaborate with customers in developing innovative packaging solutions.
Alpla’s CEO, Philipp Lehner, emphasized the company’s commitment to the region, stating, “Our involvement in Thailand more than 20 years ago represented the start of our activities in Southeast Asia and is still central to our growth today.”
“The flagship plant in Chachoengsao covers all the needs of our customers and unlocks new opportunities in the market.”
Alpla has confirmed that the facility will manufacture plastic bottles, preforms, matching closures, and injection-molded parts, utilizing all core technologies.
A key highlight of the plant is the adoption of one-step injection stretch-blow molding and injection molding, which are newly introduced at the site.
Meanwhile, operations at the Prachinburi plant will now be dedicated entirely to extrusion blow molding.
A report by the company highlights that the choice of Chachoengsao was influenced by its strategic location within the Bangkok metropolitan area, offering proximity to customers and strong logistical advantages.
Since early 2025, all production lines have been running in full-scale series production, with over 190 employees working at the site.
Alpla has been consolidating its presence in the Asia-Pacific region since 2022, including a move into recycling through a joint venture with
Thai company PTT Global Chemical. Their shared recycling facility, Envicco, located in Rayong province, supplies 30,000 tonnes of food-grade recycled PET and 15,000 tonnes of recycled HDPE annually.
Speaking about the company’s long-term vision, Roland Wallner, managing director of Alpla’s
APAC region, remarked, “The all-in-one concept strengthens our leading role as a system provider for safe, affordable, and sustainable plastic packaging from a single source.”
“Chachoengsao combines technological diversity, the highest quality, and customer service under one roof. In this way, we wish to expand our market share and unlock new segments”
