USA – Lactalis USA has announced a significant investment in its Tulare, California, facility to boost the production of Président Feta cheese in the United States.
As reported by the company, the expansion includes a new 38,000-square-foot manufacturing line that will increase feta production at both its Tulare and Belmont, Wisconsin, facilities.
The project is expected to create 20 full-time jobs in Tulare and an additional 100 temporary or contract positions during construction.
A report by Lactalis USA outlines that the construction, which began in 2023, is set to continue until 2027, with partial operations starting in May this year.
Upon completion, the company aims to enhance its feta production capacity to meet both current and future market demand.
According to Esteve Torrens, CEO of Lactalis USA, the expansion is a strategic move to strengthen the company’s presence in the U.S. market while supporting local communities.
“We are expanding to increase our cheese production capacity at our facility: This investment into new jobs and expanding operations supports our local communities and demonstrates Lactalis’ long-term view for business success in the United States,” he said.
“The expansion helps us meet the growing demand for Président Feta cheese in the United States, which is good news for our retail customers and consumers who continue to choose Président Feta for cooking at home and creating new occasions to enjoy feta.“
The Tulare facility is recognized as one of the most advanced among Lactalis’ 11 manufacturing sites in the country.
A report by the company highlights that the new production line is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a 3D ergonomic analysis designed to enhance worker safety and well-being.
Additionally, the facility incorporates automated air flow control and in-line production advancements to optimize efficiency.
Lactalis USA stated that this investment aligns with its long-term strategy to expand operations and cater to growing consumer preferences for Président Feta cheese in the U.S. market.
