USA – Nestlé USA has opened a new beverage factory and distribution center in Glendale, Arizona, to expand its manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its presence in the U.S. market.
The facility, which will primarily produce creamers for brands such as Coffee mate, natural bliss, and Starbucks, has been designed with the flexibility to accommodate additional beverage products in the future.
Daniel Jhung, president of Coffee & Beverage for Nestlé USA, emphasized the company’s commitment to meeting evolving consumer preferences.
“Coffee culture is booming across the U.S. as consumers seek more options for customization and experimentation when it comes to their coffee at home,” he said.
He noted that the new factory would play a key role in supporting Nestlé’s innovation efforts and meeting consumer demands.
He also expressed appreciation for the warm reception from the city of Glendale and the state of Arizona, stating that the company looks forward to growing alongside the community.
The Glendale facility marks Nestlé USA’s 20th food and beverage factory and is part of the company’s broader investment of over US$3 billion to enhance manufacturing operations across the country.
According to a report by the company, the 630,000-square-foot facility is equipped with advanced technology and digital tools, allowing it to adjust production based on market trends, seasonal demand, and consumer preferences.
The facility’s opening brings 300 new jobs to the Glendale community and strengthens Nestlé’s connection to its West Coast retail customers.
Sustainability is a key focus of the new factory, with several measures in place to minimize its environmental impact.
The facility features water management tools capable of recycling and repurposing up to 75% of its treated processed water, with ongoing research partnerships with students and researchers at Arizona State University to further improve water management and waste stream optimization.
Additionally, the factory utilizes renewable electricity to help lower carbon emissions.
The production process incorporates recyclable creamer bottles made from food-grade recycled plastic, and the facility is designed to be zero waste for disposal, ensuring that materials are either recycled, composted, or repurposed for energy recovery rather than sent to landfills.
Local officials have welcomed Nestlé’s expansion into Glendale, recognizing the economic and industrial impact of the new facility.
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers highlighted the significance of the company’s investment in the community.
“The city of Glendale is honored to partner with Nestlé to bring jobs to our community and advance our economy as a hub to propel the food and beverage industry forward,” he said.
He added that Nestlé’s presence would contribute to the city’s long-term growth and prosperity.
Nestlé’s new factory in Glendale joins its other operations in Arizona, including Nestlé Purina in Flagstaff and Nestlé Health Science in Prescott, further strengthening the company’s presence in the region.
