Marcel’s expands with new Langebaan store ahead festive season

SOUTH AFRICA – Marcel’s Frozen Yoghurt has officially opened its newest store at Laguna Mall in Langebaan, strategically aligning with the summer holiday season.

The expansion marks a continued growth trajectory for the brand, which now operates 27 outlets across South Africa, comprising 14 corporately owned stores and 13 franchises, alongside seven international locations in Saudi Arabia and Botswana.

This latest addition comes after Marcel’s opened stores earlier this year at Ballito Junction and SPAR Groote Schuur, solidifying its footprint in key regions.

Nicole Westvig, Managing Director of Marcel’s, emphasized that the brand’s longevity is rooted in its unwavering consistency and focus on product quality.

From the beginning, Marcel’s has prioritized premium, all-natural ingredients. This focus on integrity has earned us over 50 awards at the SA Dairy Championships, including the Qualité Award eight times,” Westvig stated.

The new Langebaan store offers an expanded range of Marcel’s popular products, including their preservative-free drinking yoghurts and frozen yoghurt options in flavours such as the widely loved English Toffee, alongside classics like Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla.

The launch also aligns with the introduction of their innovative Cookie Monster flavour, a festive-season product that blends creativity with customer engagement.

According to the company, the Cookie Monster allows customers to build their own treat with special toppings for an additional R5, enhancing the interactive experience Marcel’s aims to deliver.

Marcel’s, which first opened in Stellenbosch in 1989, distinguished itself early on by offering South Africans a healthier frozen dessert alternative through its over-the-counter service model.

This approach helped the company carve out a loyal customer base in what was then a less saturated market. Over the years, its ability to adapt to changing consumer demands has driven the brand’s success.

Marcel’s has further expanded its offerings with innovative products such as frozen yoghurt cakes, appealing to a broader audience seeking both convenience and quality.

The brand’s strategic presence in high-traffic areas and popular shopping centres underscores its business focus on accessibility and customer satisfaction.

As reported by the company, the Langebaan store opening aims to capture the heightened demand during the festive season, leveraging Marcel’s established reputation for premium, award-winning products.

With strong consumer preferences for indulgent yet healthier dessert alternatives, Marcel’s continues to position itself as a leader in South Africa’s frozen yoghurt market.

Marcel’s new store is now ready to serve holiday shoppers in Langebaan, offering a combination of tradition, quality, and innovative new flavours to enhance the festive experience.
