INDIA – GEA, a global leader in process technology and equipment, unveiled its pioneering ‘Add Better’ labeled product portfolio at the Inter Dairy Expo 2024, currently taking place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
The event, running from December 5 to 7, marks a significant milestone in the dairy industry with GEA’s spotlight on resource-efficient and environmentally sustainable solutions.
According to GEA, the introduction of the ‘Add Better’ label underscores its commitment to driving sustainability in dairy processing.
The certification identifies products engineered to optimize resource use, reduce environmental impact, and deliver substantial operational savings for dairy producers.
Among the featured solutions are separators, homogenizers, automated valves, and environmental decanters, each designed to lower energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation.
As reported by GEA, the ‘Add Better’ certification aligns with ISO 14021 ecolabel standards.
Furthermore, the company partnered with TÜV Rheinland to establish a rigorous framework for data collection, evaluation, and verification, ensuring the labeled products adhere to the highest standards of reliability and transparency.
At the expo, GEA emphasized innovations tailored to enhance efficiency in dairy operations while minimizing ecological footprints.
Highlighting the display is the GEA Centrifuge Water Saving Unit, which reportedly reduces water consumption for separator cooling by 99.9%.
This compact unit not only recycles cooling water efficiently but also enables businesses to conserve nearly 1 million liters of fresh water annually. Compatible with all GEA separators, it is available for both new installations and retrofit projects.
Another standout product is the GEA coneVerge Homogenizing Valve, which, as noted by GEA, offers up to a 20% reduction in homogenization pressure compared to conventional market alternatives.
The valve improves particle size distribution, enhancing product stability and shelf life while simultaneously lowering energy costs. Its simplified design is also reported to extend maintenance intervals, ensuring a longer lifespan.
Through these innovations, GEA aims to deliver solutions that provide tangible environmental benefits alongside operational enhancements.
The company’s representatives noted that the ‘Add Better’ label reflects GEA’s strategic direction towards a more sustainable future, aligning with the global dairy sector’s growing demand for eco-friendly and cost-effective technologies.
The launch of the ‘Add Better’ product line highlights GEA’s leadership in promoting sustainability within the dairy industry.
As businesses increasingly prioritize environmentally conscious operations, GEA’s innovations are set to play a pivotal role in transforming the sector.
