UGANDA – Lato Milk has once again solidified its leadership in Uganda’s dairy industry by winning the People’s Choice Award 2024 for Best Yoghurt and Best Flavoured Milk.
According to a report by Muyz Plus Advertising International, which organized the annual People’s Choice Awards survey, over 41,000 respondents from Uganda’s Northern, Western, Eastern, and Central regions participated in selecting the winners.
The survey aimed to capture public opinions, gathering insights from consumers, traders, and regulatory bodies such as the Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Dairy Development Authority, and Uganda Communications Commission.
During the awards ceremony hosted by Consumer Choice Awards Africa, Lato Milk was recognized not only for its flavoured milk and yoghurt but also as the Best Producer of Dairy Products.
Consumer Choice Awards Africa is known for highlighting excellence in various sectors across the continent, using data collected from online votes.
In previous years, particularly in 2019 and 2020, Lato Milk received similar accolades for Best Flavoured Milk, Best Yoghurt, and Best Producer of Dairy Products.
These repeated recognitions underscore the company’s consistent commitment to quality and innovation. A statement by the company noted that this success is largely attributed to its continuous product development and innovative processes.
Lato Milk processes approximately 500,000 liters of milk daily, employing Ultra Heat Treatment (UHT) technology.
This method ensures product safety and extends shelf life, making their dairy products both reliable and convenient.
The company packages its UHT milk in Tetra Brik Aseptic packs, which allow the products to be stored at ambient temperatures without refrigeration. This feature is particularly beneficial for consumers in regions where refrigeration might not be readily available.
The company offers a variety of products, including Extended Shelf Life (ESL) packs, Slim Packs, FinoPacks, and powdered milk variants such as whole milk, skimmed milk, and instant full-cream milk.
A spokesperson for Lato Milk expressed gratitude to the people of Uganda for their continued support, stating, “We are thrilled by this recognition and remain committed to making every sip special for our customers.”
