SOUTH AFRICA – Fairfield Dairy has introduced two new limited-edition flavors to its WoolworthsFood Double Cream yogurt range: Burfee-flavored yogurt and a Double Cream Chocolate and Mint variant.
This launch aligns with the company’s strategy to meet evolving consumer preferences by blending traditional and modern tastes.
The move strengthens Fairfield’s market position and highlights the growing innovation in South Africa’s dairy sector.
The announcement comes on the heels of Fairfield Dairy’s strong performance at the 191st South African Dairy Championships, held earlier this year.
Hosted by Agri-Expo since 1834, the annual competition is Africa’s oldest and largest dairy contest, serving as a benchmark for excellence.
This year’s event set records, attracting 1,029 entries from 78 manufacturers, including twelve new participants, underscoring the industry’s expansion and dynamism.
Fairfield Dairy was among the companies honored with the prestigious Qualité Mark of Excellence, a symbol of superior quality in the industry.
Other notable winners included Fairview Cheese Company, Fair Cape Dairies, Belnori Boutique Cheese, Lancewood, and Polar Ice Cream Company.
These awards spotlight the exceptional standards upheld by South African dairy producers, enhancing consumer confidence in local products.
The highlight of the competition was Woolworths’ triumph in securing the Dairy Product of the Year title for its 10-month-old mature Gouda, produced in collaboration with Lactalis South Africa.
Herman Janse van Rensburg, General Manager at Lactalis South Africa, expressed pride in their achievement, stating, “This award reaffirms our commitment to quality and innovation, setting a benchmark for the entire industry.”
Breyton Milford, General Manager of Agri-Expo, highlighted the significance of this year’s record-breaking participation.
He emphasized the championships’ role in promoting excellence and fostering competition within the industry.
“This platform allows manufacturers to benchmark their products against the best, driving continuous improvement,” Milford noted.
The rigorous judging process, involving five experts per category, ensures that only the finest products receive recognition. This credibility translates into valuable market differentiation for winning brands, including Fairfield Dairy.
As the company expands its product line, the awards provide a powerful endorsement, positioning it as a leader in quality and innovation.
