KENYA – Brookside Dairy has entered a strategic partnership with the Kenya Primary Schools Headteachers Association (Kepsha) as part of its efforts to expand market presence in educational institutions.

This move is aimed at strengthening its foothold in the institutional market, a growing segment with significant potential.

Brookside’s General Manager for Marketing, Linda Obando, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing high-quality dairy products and leveraging its extensive national distribution network to ensure availability across schools.

“We are delighted by the interest schools have shown in our full cream and white milk, and we are determined to service this niche market with quality products,” she said.

Brookside has been a leading player in the dairy industry for over three decades, consistently investing in its product value chain to meet the evolving needs of consumers.

As part of its partnership with Kepsha, Brookside contributed KSh 1 million in sponsorships and an additional KSh 1.8 million in dairy products and merchandise for school headteachers.

Ms. Obando highlighted Brookside’s dedication to ongoing product research and development.

“We’ll continue to assess market demand, analyze competition, and identify our target audience’s needs, expectations, and pain points,” she stated.

This approach is aimed at creating products that cater to consumer preferences while mitigating risks and enhancing satisfaction.

Brookside’s strategy aligns with its broader objective of maintaining a competitive edge through product innovation and meeting the diverse needs of its consumers at affordable prices.

In addition to the education sector, Brookside has been strengthening its position in the hospitality industry.

The processor previously partnered with the Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (KAHC) to cater to the growing demand for dairy products in hotels and catering establishments.

Brookside’s General Manager for Sales, Joseph Muguongo, noted that the collaboration with KAHC has significantly boosted the company’s market share in the hospitality sector.

“We are leveraging this goodwill to grow our market share with products that meet the demands of our consumers who patronize hospitality facilities across the country,” he said.

KAHC Chief Executive Mike Macharia commended Brookside for its consistent support. The association’s members value high-quality products that enhance the patronage of hotels and catering outlets,” he remarked.

Brookside Dairy continues to prioritize strategic partnerships and innovation as key drivers of growth.

By focusing on the institutional and hospitality markets, the company aims to broaden its consumer base and reinforce its position as a leader in the dairy sector.
