WEST AFRICA – FanMilk West Africa, a subsidiary of Danone, has announced Olakunle Olusanya’s appointment as Director, General Secretary, overseeing operations in Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Togo.
With nearly two decades of experience, Olakunle has proven adept in managing complex stakeholder relations and advancing corporate governance across West Africa during his career with Danone FanMilk.
His deep understanding of the regional market and his commitment to legal and corporate affairs make him a valuable asset to FanMilk’s mission to deliver health through accessible food.
The leadership change comes as FanMilk West Africa continues to enhance its footprint, fostering local expertise and aligning with Danone’s global mission.
“Under Olakunle’s leadership, we are confident we will drive forward Danone’s mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible,” stated FanMilk’s management team, expressing high expectations for his contributions in the role.
Earlier in 2024, FanMilk Ghana expanded its team, bringing on board four skilled professionals to further solidify its market presence.
The new appointees—Gloria Ofori, Kenneth Aidam, Yaw Darko, and Andrews Bodom—each bring unique skills and industry experience to their roles, aimed at strengthening FanMilk’s operations and brand in West Africa.
Gloria Ofori was appointed Brands Manager for Ice Cream. With a strong marketing background, Gloria has previously worked across multiple industries, implementing regional brand strategies and cost-saving initiatives.
Known for her leadership in launching new flavors and championing sustainability projects, Gloria’s expertise is set to elevate FanMilk’s ice cream brand portfolio, ensuring continued resonance with consumers.
Kenneth Aidam took on the role of Communications Manager for West Africa. He brings extensive experience in strategic communications, sustainability, and ESG initiatives from sectors such as FMCG, petroleum, and finance.
His previous work has significantly enhanced brand reputation and stakeholder engagement, which will be essential as he aligns FanMilk’s communications strategy with its sustainability and business objectives.
Yaw Darko was appointed Marketing Manager for Refreshments. With a background in FMCG, Yaw has a proven track record in category management and brand development.
His notable successes include increasing brand awareness and executing consumer promotions. Yaw’s strategic approach is expected to support FanMilk’s market expansion and introduce new snacking options.
Andrews Bodom joined as Human Resources Manager, bringing over 15 years of HR experience in manufacturing, logistics, and professional services.
Known for his work in HR policy development and fostering a positive work culture, Andrews will play a critical role in talent acquisition and retention as FanMilk continues to grow in the region.
