INDIA – MilkLane, a leading dairy brand under Innoterra, has launched its innovative Dairy Procurement Services in South India, providing a comprehensive solution for supplying high-quality, aflatoxin- and antibiotic-safe milk to dairy companies and startups.
This new platform aims to streamline dairy procurement, offering flexible, end-to-end services that enable businesses to focus on their core operations while benefiting from cost savings and transparent pricing models.
Under this Procurement as a Service (PaaS) model, MilkLane takes complete control of the raw chilled milk (RCM) procurement process.
Sourcing milk directly from dairy farmers, MilkLane ensures that the milk meets stringent quality standards through rigorous testing at every stage.
The service operates in key states, including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, enabling businesses to access premium milk year-round consistently.
The flexible model allows B2B clients to choose procurement options that best fit their operational needs. MilkLane handles all aspects of sourcing and offers two financial models – cost-plus and fixed-price – allowing clients to review prices periodically for full transparency.
This model also relieves dairy companies of the burden of managing their own on-ground procurement teams, further reducing operational costs.
MilkLane’s robust network of over 10,000 small-scale farmers and more than 150 Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) strategically placed across the region ensures rapid milk collection and cooling, enhancing product quality.
Each BMC cools milk within 45 minutes of milking, preserving its freshness and nutritional content. The company’s state-of-the-art processing facility, with a capacity of 200,000 liters per day, further guarantees a steady and reliable supply chain.
“Rising demand for safe, high-quality milk makes reliable sourcing more critical than ever,” said Avinash Kasinathan, Head of India Business at Innoterra.
“The dairy sector faces challenges such as inconsistent fat content, antibiotic contamination, and aflatoxins, which compromise product quality and consumer safety.
“At MilkLane, we have addressed these issues by implementing a four-tier quality control process with over 40 tests conducted in central labs, ensuring that our clients receive the safest milk possible.”
MilkLane’s procurement solution is also designed to support long-term sustainability in the dairy supply chain. The company’s digitally enabled infrastructure provides 100% end-to-end traceability, allowing customers to track the quality and source of their milk.
Additionally, MilkLane supports farmers through training and extension services, promoting best practices in cattle nutrition and risk mitigation.
This holistic approach to dairy procurement guarantees quality and safety and fosters economic empowerment for smallholder farmers, making MilkLane a key player in transforming India’s dairy landscape.
