UGANDA – Geoffrey Mulwana, the Executive Director of JESA Farm Dairy, has been recognized as one of the top 100 Leading and Most Admired CEOs in Uganda for 2024, as revealed in CEO East Africa Magazine’s prestigious survey.

Mulwana’s outstanding leadership, commitment to brand-building, and drive for innovation have earned him a prominent position on this highly regarded list.

The survey ranked CEOs based on several critical traits that respondents found essential for leadership excellence.

According to the results, the most important qualities included integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and reliability, which were given a weight of 96.67%.

Following closely was a strong and well-articulated vision, along with a big-picture orientation, rated at 96%. Coming in third, with a weight of 93.33%, was the ability to prioritize the well-being of employees and create a positive work environment.

Additional key traits included being foresighted, adaptable, decisive, and results-driven, showcasing well-rounded performance in leadership roles.

The recognition of Geoffrey Mulwana is a significant accolade for JESA, Uganda’s leading processor of quality fresh and long-life dairy products.

JESA has consistently maintained its reputation as a forward-thinking company that blends innovation with a strong commitment to quality.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for the hard work and dedication that goes into building and maintaining a brand like JESA, Mulwana said.

“This recognition is not just for me but for the entire team that works tirelessly to ensure JESA remains at the forefront of the dairy industry in Uganda.”

In 2023, JESA Farm Dairy was honored with two prestigious awards at the annual Africa Food Awards: a Lifetime Achievement Award for the farm’s founder, the late Dr. James Mulwana, and the New Project of the Year Award for their state-of-the-art dairy plant in Busunju.

These awards, presented at a gala dinner held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, were a testament to the farm’s contribution to the agricultural sector across Africa.

In his acceptance speech, Geoffrey Mulwana said, “We are extremely humbled that a family-owned business from humble beginnings in Uganda is being seen and recognized on the global stage. It all started with the vision of our founder, who dared to dream big despite having no experience in the food business.”

“Our new plant is more than just brick and mortar; it is a symbol of what can be achieved with innovation and hard work,” he continued.

JESA’s acknowledgement of these awards and Mulwana’s inclusion in the Leading and Most Admired CEOs list revealed the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and addressing complex challenges in the dairy industry.

As the company stated in a LinkedIn post, “We strongly believe that a commitment to innovation, cutting-edge technologies, and disruptive techniques to stay ahead in today’s constantly changing world is crucial to success in our sector.”

Under Geoffrey Mulwana’s leadership, JESA continues to set the bar high for the dairy industry in Uganda and beyond, showcasing the transformative potential of vision, innovation, and dedication in the agri-business sector.
