SIG teams up with Sole-Mizo to install state-of-the-art aseptic filling machine

HUNGARY – SIG, a global leader in food and beverage packaging solutions, has partnered with Sole-Mizo, the Hungarian dairy market leader, to install a cutting-edge SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine.

This machine will fill a wide range of Sole-Mizo dairy products into two highly appreciated SIG packaging formats: SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit.

This collaboration introduces the SIG MidiFit family pack to Hungarian consumers for the first time. The unique shape and design of SIG MidiFit stand out on supermarket shelves, offering benefits such as drip-free pouring and easy opening and closing for both vertical and horizontal storage.

Both SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit carton packs perfectly convey the high quality and special nature of Sole-Mizo products.

SIG’s filling technology provides numerous advantages to Sole-Mizo, combining high efficiency and flexibility in production processes.

The SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine can fill both carton pack formats in various volumes, from 500 ml to 1 liter, accommodating high-quality Sole-Mizo products such as ESL and UHT milk.

Titus Kuk, plant manager at Sole-Mizo, stated, “Our close partnership with SIG offers clear differentiation for our Mizo brand in Hungary.

“SIG MidiFit and SIG MidiBloc carton packs will bring a new dimension in long-life packaging to retailers and consumers, catching the eye and representing our premium products. We will stand out in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”

The SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine is capable of filling 12,000 SIG MidiFit and SIG MidiBloc carton packs per hour, with a high degree of flexibility.

Packaging formats, volumes, opening solutions, and packaging materials can be switched rapidly to maximize production capacity.

Jovana Pinter, head of Sales South East Europe at SIG, remarked, “Our filling technology offers the unique opportunity to achieve maximum levels of flexibility for our customers, in terms of products, formats, and volumes fillable on the same machine.

Being able to fill different products into different packaging types on the SIG Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine means Sole-Mizo can adapt quickly to the changing needs of consumers and retailers.”

Earlier, SIG rolled out water-recyclable bags that had been developed and manufactured in Australia.

This innovation marks a significant sustainability milestone for the water industry, replacing the current aluminum structure with SIG Terra RecShield, a uniquely formulated polymer-based material structure. This ensures that all components of the bag-in-box packaging are now recycle-ready.

This development aligns with the Australian 2025 National Packaging Targets, which aim to advance sustainable packaging practices further.
