UK – Delamere Dairy has introduced a new flavored milk range in innovative CartoCan packaging, made of paper and fully recyclable, providing an eco-friendly alternative to Delamere’s traditional glass bottles.
This new range launches with Strawberry and Chocolate flavors, with Banana expected to follow in 2025 in the CartoCan packaging that can be stored at ambient temperatures.
“We have long since wanted to offer a different packaging option to our customers,” Steven O’Connor, Senior Business Growth Manager at Delamere, said.
“The CartoCan is perfect for reducing plastic waste and opens up new channels for distribution with an alternative to glass featuring our best-selling flavors. It will appeal to all ages, specifically children, with its quality taste and high nutritional value.”
The CartoCan’s lightweight, slim, contemporary design maximizes shelf space and convenience, all while being fully recyclable. Despite the change in packaging, the 235ml CartoCan promises the same great taste and quality that Delamere’s loyal customers expect.
“The 235ml CartoCan delivers the same great flavor that has driven Delamere Flavoured Milk to the forefront of the flavored milk sector,” O’Connor emphasized.
Delamere Dairy believes convenience store retailers can significantly boost sales with flavored milk products. The range saw continued success in 2023, following a stellar 2022, where convenience sales increased by 24% compared to the previous year.
Two notable developments in 2023 included the introduction of a 240ml glass bottle for the Iced Coffee, Chocolate, Banana, and Strawberry flavors, and the December release of a new Salted Caramel flavor. This flavor joined the best-sellers in the popular 500ml clear glass bottle format.
The existing Banana, Iced Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate, and Vanilla flavours are famous in independent retail and forecourts, especially for on-the-go customers, driving high repeat sales.
“There’s never been a better time to review your flavoured milk offering and maximize on this growth area,” John Ord, National Account Manager at Delamere, highlighted.
“Delamere flavoured milk customers are incredibly loyal; they know what they like, and once they have a reliable stockist, they will return for more, often daily! Flavored milk offers the consumer an alternative to sugary soft drinks.”
Ord also noted that while placing Delamere-flavoured milk in the dairy aisle in one-liter formats is expected, more stores are now selling it from the food-to-go fixture as part of a meal deal, reaping the benefits.
