GHANA – WhatIF Foods, an international company dedicated to sustainable and healthy living, has launched BAMnut Milk in Ghana.
According to the company, the innovative plant-based milk is crafted entirely from 100% Ghanaian Bambara beans, providing exceptional nutritional value and a sustainable alternative to traditional dairy.
“Sourced directly from protein-rich Bambara beans cultivated by smallholder farmers in the Northern part of Ghana, BAMnut Milk stands out as a creamy, lactose-free option for consumers,” the company noted.
“What sets this plant-based milk apart is its simplicity – enriched with only three natural ingredients: bambara beans, coconut oil, and water. Importantly, it contains no artificial sweeteners, stabilizers, colors, emulsifiers, or preservatives.”
In addition, the company highlighted that BAMnut Milk boasts high nutrient density compared to other plant-based milks, serving as an excellent source of dietary fiber and rich in calcium, vitamin D, and B12.
“The versatility makes it suitable for various applications, including baking, cooking, coffee, tea, breakfast cereals, and snacks.”
The product is available in three varieties: Airy, Everyday, and Barista, catering to different preferences and dietary needs.
The product is now available at selected Shoprite, Melcom, Shell Stations, and other retailers in Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi. Additionally, it can be found in cafes such as Jamestown Café, La Boule Accra, and Palm Moments.
The launch of BAMnut Milk aligns with principles of empowering local farmers and promoting sustainability.
The bambara bean’s drought-resistant properties and ability to thrive in degraded soils contribute to the product’s sustainability.
Meanwhile, WhatIF Foods has collaborated with over 6,500 registered farmers across 50 communities in the northern region, introducing agrobiodiversity and educating on regenerative agricultural practices to establish a sustainable supply chain and support profitable farming.
“BAMnut Milk is not just a beverage; it represents a premium choice for consumers seeking a healthier lifestyle while making a positive impact on the environment.”
The launch coincides with initiatives by The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (CSIR-SARI) to expand Bambara Groundnut cultivation in Ghana, enhancing food security and supporting smallholder farmers.
