SOUTH AFRICA – South African largest dairy producer, Lactalis, has appointed Herman Janse van Rensburg as its new General Manager effective July 18, 2023.

Janse van Rensburg will succeed Alban Damour, who has taken up his new assignment as General Manager for Lactalis India.

Janse van Rensburg joined Lactalis South Africa 12 years ago as a financial manager and has worked in various executive positions across management control, commercial, and marketing.

Prior to this new appointment, Janse van Rensburg was the COO for Lactalis South Africa.

“This year marks 90 years of Group Lactalis being in business, and I am excited to be part of this milestone and lead Lactalis South Africa into its next phase of growth,” Herman said during his appointment.

“Together with the Lactalis SA team, I will continue to build on the strong foundation that Damour built during his tenure and maintain our position as the number one dairy company in South Africa.”

He assured to partner with all customers, business partners and communities to make a meaningful impact in the general community in both the business and social environments.

Lactalis South Africa (LSA) was registered in South Africa in 2020. It  has been part of the Lactalis Group since 2011 but previously operated as Parmalat SA.

LSA is home to quality and trusted brands such as Melrose, Président, Parmalat and Steri Stumpie, as well as Bonnita, PureJoy, Galbani, and Aylesbury.

“Our product range includes everything from cheese, long-life milk and flavoured milk, to ice cream, cream, maas, yoghurt, butter and fruit juice.”

Earlier this year, Lactalis expanded its iconic flavoured milk brand Steri Stumpie with the launch of a new Peanut Butter Flavored milk.

The dairy giant also recently celebrated receiving four Qualité and eight SA Champion awards at the 2023 South African Dairy Championship Awards.

Lactalis SA was awarded Qualités for Président Mature Gouda (6 months) and Melrose Cheddar Flavour, as well as for two mature cheeses produced for Woolworths, a Mature Chedda and Mature Gouda.
