VIETNAM – Vietnam’s leading dairy processor, Vinamilk Dairy has entered into a strategic partnership with six global nutrition and bioscience companies to enable the company to deliver international quality nutritional solutions with superior formulations for children in the country.

According to the CEO of the dairy processor, Mai Kieu Lien, the six participating companies are DSM, Chr. Hansen, Beneo, Gnosis, AAK and Kanematsu, operating in Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Japan, respectively.

Mai said the collaboration is aimed to enable Vinamilk to achieve its goals to enhance the promotion of international cooperation to bring internationally standardised and the most suitable products for Vietnamese children.

“Bringing more value to consumers and providing high-quality and safer products for children is Vinamilk’s highest commitment,” she said.

“The collaboration will reinforce Vinamilk’s international reputation and its mission to provide high-quality baby milk powder of international standards.”

According to the APAC president of DSM Group Asia Pacific, Francois Scheffler, Vinamilk has shown endless efforts and overwhelming enthusiasm for developing products that meet international quality standards.

“DSM has cooperated with Vinamilk for many years and hence we believe that with this stronger strategic partnership, Vinamilk will soon conquer the highest global standards in the dairy industry,” he said.

Over the previous years, the brand has incorporated beneficial nutrients such as HMO-2’FL fibre, BB-12TM and LGG probiotics and nucleotides into its products to bring them closer to breast milk.

With the strategic partnership, Vinamilk expressed its hopes to gain access to its advanced technologies and know-how to accelerate its own product innovation.

At the end of last year, Vinamilk outlined plans to increase its capacity by 20% through the construction of two large plants in its home market to meet the global demand for its products.

The Hung Yen-based factory aimed to have a total capacity of 400 million litres per year to produce a variety of dairy products to increase supply to northern Vietnam and for export to other Asian countries, including China, Japan, and South Korea.

Vinamilk also revealed that over the last 15 years, the company had invested US$615m in 13 factories and 14 farms in its domestic market.

The company also diversified into the powdered milk segment with two factories in Vietnam. One of them – the Vietnam Powdered Milk Factory – has a production capacity of 54,000 tonnes per year, manufacturing infant-nutrition products such as Dielac, RiDielac, and Optimum Gold.
