USA – Nestlé, Swiss multinational food, and drink conglomerate corporation, has appointed Anna Manz as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after François-Xavier Roger stepped down from the position.
In the company’s press release, François-Xavier Roger, Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer, who has served in the company for 8 years decided to step down and pursue new professional line .
According to the CEO Mark Schneider, François has played a great role in shaping and implementing the company’s value creation strategy enabling it to steer through a very turbulent macroeconomic environment.
“At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Anna Manz to Nestlé. Her deep knowledge of the consumer goods industry, combined with her extensive experience across many corporate functions, make her uniquely positioned to help lead Nestlé into its next phase of value creation,” Mark added.
Anna Manz, who is currently the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board for the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), will join Nestlé as CFO as soon as she is released from her present duties.
To ensure a smooth transition François-Xavier Roger will remain in his role until Anna Manz arrives where she will also become a member of the Executive Board of Nestlé S.A. as an Executive Vice President.
François-Xavier Roger also expressed his regard to the company for giving him an opportunity to be part of the remarkable value-creation journey.
“I have had the pleasure to lead a highly professional finance team, and I feel this is the appropriate time to hand over my responsibilities,” he added.
Unilever CFO, chief digital and commercial officer departs ahead of new CEO’s arrival
Meanwhile, Unilever has also announced a shake-up at its executive with both its chief financial officer and chief digital and commercial officer departing their roles just weeks before new CEO Hein Schumacher takes the reins.
According to Unilever’s outgoing CEO Alan Jope, Graeme Pitkethly, who headed the consumer goods giant’s finances, is retiring after 21 years at the business.
“As CFO, he has brought great leadership to our company and been instrumental in sharpening our strategy and driving a step-up in our operational performance,” outgoing CEO Alan Jope said.
Conny Braams, chief digital and commercial officer, of the Ben and Jerry’s maker will also depart at the end of the summer, with a successor set to be announced in due course.
Brahms joined the board in 2020 and has held several senior management roles including Executive Vice President (EVP) and EVP of Food Solutions Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Jope appreciated Conny’s excellent leadership of the company’s digital, marketing, and commercial agenda over the last four years, and for her impressive contribution to Unilever over three decades.
